Abstract
Djerba has some modestly sized monuments but a very rich architecture: mosques, houses or Menzels, fondouks, pottery and weaving workshops. Recommendations and objectives: 1) to reduce the destruction or deterioration 2) to work out a census of the buildings to be restored or preserved; 3) to practice an interventionist policy by informing, sensitizing, and by making the population and authorities participate; and 4) gain the participation of international organizations such as UNESCO and ICOMOS.
