Treatment of a 15th century Chinese wall painting depicting three bodhisattvas in the British Museum, London. Outlines the history of the painting (4.3m x 4m.) and previous treatment since acquisition by the museum in 1927. The dismanting, cleaning/paint fixing, consolidation, grout injection, assembly and reintegration are then described. Materials used were Raccanello acrylic silane E 55050, Vinacyl R 40224 polyvinyl butyral, microcell glass balloons, kaolin, gilder's whiting, fumed silica and Rowney's Cryla acrylic paints for retouching.
