The degradative effect that sunlight has on cotton fabric in the presence of artificial perspiration has been evaluated by strength loss studies, scanning electron microscopy, and x-ray diffraction. Significant loss in tensile strength and the development of cracks and fibrilation were observed in fabrics under these conditions.
