Results of the investigations on influence of plastifiers on the shock resistance of wood modified with styrene, methyl methacrylate and polyester resins are presented in the paper. Diisobutylo-phtalate, vinyl acetate, acrylonitrile and butadieno- styrene latex were applied as plastifiers. No significant differences in the action of particular plastifiers have been found. A high shock resistance of wood modified with WINALKID 550 polyester resin is ascribed to the effect of adipic acid introduced into this resin in the course of its production process.
