Abstract
The aim of the respective investigations was to determine the effect of a simultaneous introduction of styrene, jointly with machine oil Z-26 into alder and birch wood, on selected properties of the produced lignomer. The styrene polymerization process in wood was conducted on the basis of thermal treatment in oil. The friction coefficient of lignomer depending on time was determined on a tribonometer of the Amsler type at cooperation with the St.5 steel counter sample, at a unit pressure of 2 MN/m*h2*s. Moreover, the static bending strength and hardness after Brinell were determined. The investigations have proved that the presence of machine oil Z-26 in lignomer decreases its dimensional stability. An addition to styrene of Z-26 oil in the amount of 10 and 20per thousand leads to only minimum decrease of the static bending strength and hardness of the birch lignomer. The content of oil not exceeding 20per thousand leads to an almost 60per thousand-tual decrease of the friction coefficient of lignomer. Therefore, the continuation of the investigations aiming at production of a self- lubricating stuff designed for production of slide bearings should be regarded as justified.
