Abstract
The aim of the respective investigations was to determine the effect of the preliminary hydrolysis of beech and alder wood on the quality of the produced lignomer. Wood prisms with the size of 50 x 50 x 200 mm were subjected to hydrolysis by their submerging in 4per thousand phosphoric acid solution for 5 days and subsequent boiling for 5 hours. For production of lignomer from preliminarily hydrolyzed wood prisms the styrene monomer and etherificated natural aminic resins were used. Imbibition of the prisms was carried out after removal of air off them. The polymerization process of the substances to wood was performed by means of the thermal treatment in machine oil after the Poznan lignomer production technology. The lignomer produced from preliminarily hydrolyzed wood is characterized by higher dimensional stability than the lignomer produced from non-hydrolyzed wood. The static bending strength and the hardness of lignomer from preliminarily hydrolyzed wood are much less than those of the lignomer produced from natural wood. The styrene application for the production of lignomer enables to obtain lignomer with more favorable properties than in case of application of etherificated aminic resins.
