Abstract
The difficulty of recreating Chinese porcelain in Europe is noted until in 1710 Johann Friedrich Boettger discovered the proper clay and fusible rock and consequently worked out the formula. The formulation of porcelain is explained, the technics of working with the material are described, and the methods of decoration are listed. Examples of contemporary American porcelain are provided. -- AATA
