Abstract
Describes the outcome and details of a think-tank on wooden object consolidation sponsored by the Wooden Artifacts Group (WAG)) of the American Institute for Conservation (AIC), 1-2 December 1984, at the Klingle Mansion in Washington DC. The paper assesses causes of deterioration; severity and extent of deterioration; location of deterioration; use of the object; types of treatment - stabilization, exterior support, strength enhancement of original part, replacement and secure storage of original part.
