Considers the damaging and corrosive effects of environmental pollution on cultural property in Cuba. Climate and pollution have a deteriorating influence on all materials, including wood, stone, metal, and paintings. Examines antipollution measures and products for conserving and restoring cultural property, e.g., consolidants, synthetic resins and fixatives, corrosion inhibitors, oxide convertors, propylene, and other biocides. The exterior appearance of an object, its color and texture, must be respected.
