Abstract
Passive use of solar energy for buildings heating and lighting as well as protection from excessive solar radiation contributes to energy efficiency and sustainable energy use in buildings. On objects near the large water surfaces, the solar radiation on the outer surfaces depends on a numerous factors, among others and from reflection of solar radiation from the water surface. Relevant parameters’ interaction has been encompassed by theoretical model and used to present a possibility for better passive use of solar energy in buildings near the large water surface on the example of the single, vertical, west – east oriented glass sheet.
