A general introduction to dyeing is presented, and comments are given on those factors which control the outcome of textile dyeing processes. Dye, fiber, dyebath, and dyeing equipment variables are introduced and their relative importance discussed. Comment is made on the interaction between color science and dyeing. -- AATA
