Abstract
The case studies in this booklet have originated from the Industry project established by the Committee on Corrosion. Under this project, a number of corrosion consultants have collaborated with selected co-operative firms or other organisations with a view to examining the designs, production methods, product performance and service needs in plant, building and operations generally. Through analysis of some areas of these firms activities, the consultants sought to identify or clarify the true nature of existing corrosion problems and, where possible, to recommend a course of activity by the firm that would lead to an economic solution. As a result of this collaboration, these case studies have been generated in the expectation that they might serve to publicise the economic benefits that can be gained through improved design or practice based on the use of anti-corrosion technology.
