Abstract
Thickeners used in textile printing are high molecular weight compounds and on hydration they swell giving viscous paste. The desirable properties of the thickeners are given at the various places in the literature. In our earlier communications we have reported the various ways of modification of Guar Gum in order to make this product suitable for reactive printing. The present paper deals with the standardization of different modified products of Guar Gum in relation to their suitability for printing of reactive and disperse dyes. The different dye-fibre systems were also studied and the results are discussed.
