The interference effect of these wavy patterns is similar to the Moiré patterns obtained by superimposing half-tone screens of different line count. This is an effect of the interaction between the weaves of 2 canvases which can be suppressed by introducing a surfacing veil, an intermediate layer of a non-woven fabric composed of synthetique fibers, compressed into a sort of felt. Suggests the use of a laminate of fiber-glass for stiffness and dimensional stability, covered on both sides by polyester surfacing veils against corrosions and abrasions.
