Investigations were carried out on a special particularly hydrophillic lecithin, which had been developed for leather fatliquoring. Pilot plant and factory scale trials showed that this special lecithin is suitable for leather fatliquoring in general. The results for suede, split upper and vegetable tanned leathers were especially good. In the case of grain leather, the grain was found to be less firm, even in the flanks. In one of the factory trials, a certain sensitivity of the lecithin liquor to salts and lower pH values was indicated, which probably can be diminished at a lower fatliquoring temperature.
