Abstract
The Rensselaer Color Measurement Laboratory has developed the method of solution spectrophotometry for the identification of organic pigments. Mixtures of pigments can be analyzed, and the presence of resins, binders, or other uncolored additives generally do not interfere with the analysis. The Organic Pigment Identification Package consists of: 1) instructions; and, 2) 416 log absorbance plots of 166 organic pigments in solvents. The cost of Package No. 1 is $250. Other packages will be developed on request. Arrangements can also be made to access Rensselaer's computer data files. Contact: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York 12181.
