Abstract
Computed alpha coefficients for the application of empirical equations in microprobe analysis are determined by the method developed by Rousseau and Claisse for X-ray fluorescence analysis. It is shown that the Claisse-Quintin relation with such coefficients yields results of analysis identical with those obtained by the ZAF method. Nearly as accurate results are obtained when the second-order terms relative to three elements are neglected.
