Abstract
Ideally, the materials used for laminating paper should be stable, not liable to decay, they should not alter the appearance nor thickness of the document. The treatment should be reversible, that is, it should be possible to remove the document from the laminate without damaging it. In order to determine which products came closest to these qualifications, a series of films applied to paper were artificially aged. The properties of the laminated document were then studied.
