Abstract
The sweating or weeping of certain antique glass objects is explained in terms of the chemical reactions between glasses and water. On the basis of the chemical mechanism, a scheme was designed by which such objects are treated and stored in a special cabinet. The relative humidity of the enclosed air is kept safely below the critical limit of 42 per cent by circulation over silica gel. Other problems and treatments in the conservation and restoration of glass are also reviewed. The transcript of the discussion period following the presentation of the paper is especiallyhelpful. -- AATA
