Abstract
Following remarks on the causes of metal corrosion, the author reports on some promising experiments in measuring corrosion tendency electrically, following Toedt's method. The test object is placed in a 3% sodium chloride solution and connected with one pole of a galvanometer. The otherpole is attached to a platinum electrode. According to the nature and condition of the test material, the resulting current intensity curve will show a form typical for its corrosion tendency. This promises to become a useful method for testing whether metallic finds have been effectively preserved. 5 references. -- AATA
