Abstract
Research on chemstrip tests for the detection of blood residues on Prehistoric stone tools from the Middle Atlantic region of eastern North America indicates that false positive reactions can be caused by naturally occurring soil constituents, such as manganese oxide. Control tests of soils, pebbles, and gravels are recommended before application of chemstrip tests. -- AATA
