The blue wool standard used for xenon arc fading tests for automotive fabrics controls irradiance, temperature, and relative humidity in these tests. In evaluating polymeric materials, the wool sample presents difficulties in reproducibility. The particular problem of relative humidity is demonstrated. -- AATA
