This bibliography, which the compiler admits is incomplete, is an attempt to cover most of the literature dealing with conservation of painted glass. Nine pages of introductory comments precede the abstracts. Within the introductory comments, substantial detail is provided on the mechanisms of chemical deterioration of glass; whether or not, and how, to clean painted glass; restoration; consolidation; preservation; and chemical analysis. The entries in the bibliography are referenced within the introduction. The abstracts are listed chronologically, beginning with the year 1907.
