Abstract
Publications in the USSR from 1969-1973 on lighting are summarized. Various lighting methods and means of reducing the Iight levels are discussed. Recommended levels of illumination for high light stable materials such as ceramics and metals are 2O0-1000 lux; for paintings, wood and bone, 100-150 lux; for exhibits on paper support, textiles, leather, 50 lux.
