Abstract
Studies on the deterioration of thermoplastic resins are summarized and note taken of a recent review of the principles of autoxidation. Three classes of photochemical stability are proposed based on the BS1006: 1976 blue-wool fading standards. Preliminary results of exposing these standards to four sources of illumination are given. Initial observations on the depth of fading in oil paints are presented.
