Abstract

Solvents for removing cross-linked polymers were tested at the Victoria & Albert museum, London: green label nitromors (mostly dichloromethane) dichloromethane plus a little methanol, desolve 292 and panasolves (blends of solvents). These were used on well-aged cross-linked polymers, and the results are tabulated. A warning is added against the use of chloroform.
