Abstract
Nuclear magnetic resonance technique was used for probing relaxation characteristics of water in the outer surface layer in samples of medieval and modern parchment, bookbinding parchment, leather, and a fragment of wool which were equilibrated with different relative humidities in the range 55% to 100%.
