Abstract
The paper describes the medieval textile treasure of Halberstadt Cathedral. The long neglected textile collection required permanent repair measures. After the materials and techniques were studied, some of the knotted and handwoven carpets and other liturgical garments were cleaned and restored. One hopes that better lighting and exhibition conditions will extend the life of this valuable collection. (See also AATA 21-490).
