Abstract
The salt efflorescences on the marble facings inside the church include thenardite, gypsum, aphthitalite, soda-niter, nitrocalcite, sulphohalite and halite. The main causes of their formation are connected to condensation and evaporation, humidity of the walls, cement used in restoration and to the Lagoon environment. Some provisions for conservation are suggested. See also AATA 19-1790.
