Abstract
For a series of tests on the effectiveness of various chemical agents against the Formosan subterranean termite, Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki, test stakes were soaked in a 2.0% oil solution of chlordane; the results were compared with those of stakes soaked in 0. 4% and 0.8% oil solutions of permethrin, a synthetic pyrethroid. They were exposed to termites for 28 months. A 0.4% permethrin oil solution and 2.0% chlordane oil solution are equally effective against termites.
