Describes a method for the cleaning of coins through electrolysis. After the coin has been cleaned for grease with acetone, it is brushed over with Synoperonic N.X. Diluted in distilled water (1:10). An aluminum foil is pressed closely around the coin. The reaction time is generally from 10-30 minutes and the treatment can be repeated. After that the coin is cooked for 10 minutes in distilled water and this treatment is repeated until a 2% silver nitrate solution does not cause any precipitation. After drying with cotton wool, the coin is further dried for half an hour by a hair dryer. The method can also be used for brocade.
