Abstract
In 1956 the ATM (Arbeitsgemeinschaft des Technischen Museumspersonals) was founded as an association of German restorers. It now has 1100 members which meet regularly every two years. The ATM publishes the Arbeitsblätter für Restauratoren, a journal which concentrates on the practical work of restoration. Since 1981 this association calls itself ERG (Europäische Restauratorengemeinschaft).
