Abstract
We have examined fine structures of Xerographic toner powder using a new ultramicrotomy technique. It has been difficult to examine Xerographic toner by transmission electron microscopy because of difficulty in specimen preparation. Most of the toners are heat-sensitive and they easily become dissolved or swollen in solvents. This has not allowed good sections for microscopy. We have developed a new preparation technique based on cryo-microtomy and have succeeded in preparing artifact-free sections.
