Within the 80-acre site of Snug Harbor is an unusual collection of Greek Revival, Italianate, Second Empire, Beaux Arts, and vernacular Victorian style buildings, designed by noted architects and artisans of the 1800's-early 1900's. Restoration of the exteriors of these structures and restoration/adaptive reuse of the interiors is converting this complex from a retirement home for seamen to a center for the arts.
