Abstract
Wile conservation policies may differ among countries, the desire to hand a cultural property down to posterity is a common desire. Cultural property can either be protected from further destruction and deterioration, or restored to its original state by supplementing missing parts. The appearance of cultural property after conservation or restoration is governed by 1) color and gloss, 2) unevenness of the surface, 3) application of fillings, 4) reproduction, 5) removing and reconstruction (in the case of architectural objects), and 6) con servation of sixe.
