Abstract
The principle of remote sensing of significant areas of land using the thermal reaction of the earth's periodic radiation is discussed. Relevant characteristics for a multi-layer earth are evolved and examples of practical surveys undertaken during the past four years are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.
