The molecular structure of adhesives, which is responsible for the divergent requirements of intemal mobility and intermolecular bonding, is considered. Data are labulated on the intrinsic flexibility of certain links in linear macromolecules, on adhesion-promoting polar groups, on reactive cross-linking agents, and on vinyl and acrylic monomers with specific functionalities. -- AATA
