Abstract
Only abstract published. A fine-grained limestone was treated with Sandsteinverfestiger-OH. The application of this resin which is based on tetraethoxysilane makes the stone hydrophobic at first. With progressing hydrolysis and condensation of the resin the stone attains nearly its original water absorption characteristics.
