Abstract
This paper presents a detailed discussion of a comprehensive approach to the use of laboratory accelerated tests for evaluating the relatively long-term durability of natural stone. Some modified accelerated aging tests are introduced. A brief discussion of the processes involved in stone deterioration together with a laboratory technique for evaluating the effects of cycling temperature changes upon the dimensions of thin marbles is also presented. See also AATA 21-914 for entire proceedings.
