Abstract
The influence of the thermal inertia of the wall on the size of the wet region during condensation inside walls is calculated, assuming that the effect of thermal capacity is small and can be treated as a perturbation of the temperature field. To calculate the rate of recession of the wet region during evaporation, the existence of a discontinuous water front is taken into account, but the effect of thermal capacity is neglected.
