Abstract
Degradation of the tuff is related to its high porosity and water absorption characteristics. The tufo giallo has large amounts of zeolites, chabazite and phillipsite, which are important factors in the behaviour of this rock. Two ethyl silicate strengthening agents were tested, the second being also hydrophobic, wacker-oh and wacker-h.
