This short article discusses John Asmus' laser cleaning of works of art (stone, wood, bronze, textiles, mural paintings), as well as cleaning of dust from buildings and rust in shipyards using pulsed or augmented flash lamps. He hopes to develop a giant laser scrub brush for large cleaning projects. Ultrasonic waves used in detecting hidden murals and holograms used in making reproductions of works of art are also mentioned. -- AATA
