Abstract
The article maintains that the acrylic total impregnation process can be employed in consolidation of stones which are too badly damaged for treatment with other consolidants, and has been used for seven years in Bavaria on a comparatively large scale providing satisfactory results. The article concludes with a safe preservation method for stone objects which appear to be in a hopeless condition, and can be applied to all types of stone which may be removed for treatment.
