Abstract
In 2011 the author was asked to participate in a project at the Harry Ransom Center (HRC) at the University of Texas in Austin. Their collection includes five dresses worn by Vivien Leigh in the 1939 film, Gone With the Wind, including the iconic Green Curtain Dress. From the outset it was clear that the project would receive extensive press coverage. This paper shares the guidance the author received from the exceptional HRC Public Affairs Department that prepared and directed her when the reporters came calling.
