Abstract
No rapid process for black and white printing is permanent because the photograph is only stabilized; unless the unexposed silver is fixed, the prints will eventually turn black. Sources of degradation are identified including the storage containers. Problems in processing also contribute to degradation. Manufacturers of archival quality photographic materials are listed. -- AATA
