Abstract
Petrological studies of stone remains from two villages that were destroyed during the Middle Ages showed them to be gneiss, quartzite, limestone, and quartz. Reddish brown graywackes were found, the color being explained by the burning of the buildings. The mineralogical and chemical compositions of the building materials are given in detail. -- AATA
