Abstract
Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) has been used to assess abrasion resistance of allcotton broadcloth during laundering and to determine the effects of various detergents, water hardnesses, and chemical finishes on selected appearance characteristics. The SEM observations were found to be in agreement with conclusions drawn from stress-strain data of laundering abraded cotton fabrics. -- AATA
