Abstract
Important modern finishes such as flame-retardant treatments of natural and synthetic fibers, water and oil repellency, soil-release finishes, and anti-static treatments-are each given a chapter in book. The new use of radiation in finishing is described. The chemical technology of wool finishing is reviewed. Conventional treatments like crabbing, scouring, and milled are reported; but new finishes like machine-washable treatments, durable-press, and garment setting and insect proofing are discussed as well. See AATA 21-1760 for volume 1, part A. -- AATA
