The systematic designing of storage and study mounts for a collection of archaeologically recovered Peruvian textile fragments is discussed. Mylar (polyester resin film) is recommended as the mounting substrate based upon its physical properties and cheimcal neutrality andstability. Being both transparent and rigid gives it the advantage over textile substrates such as silk crepeline. The article gives a step-by-step method of construction for double window mounts for flat fragments and instructions for thicker specimens as well.
