A brief description of the Musée des Arts de la Mode (MAM) to be housed in the Pavillion de Maran in the Louvre Complex, opening in December 1985, with photographs of some of the objects, descriptions of the people involved, philosophy of collection, record keeping, conservation and display. At present, they have no conservation staff of their own, but they will be forming a department and estimate that conservation will use one-third of their annual budget: restoring, cleaning, repairing, and pressing. -- AATA
